Dr. Keith Rheault

Dr. Keith Rheault grew up in the fertile farm country of the Red River Valley near Fargo, North Dakota. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degrees in Agricultural Education from North Dakota State University in 1976 and 1980 respectively. Dr. Rheault taught Vocational Agriculture classes for four years and served as the FFA Chapter Advisor at two different schools in North Dakota between 1976 and 1982.  He earned his Doctorate Degree from Iowa State University in Agricultural Education in 1985.  While completing his Doctorate Degree at Iowa State University, Dr. Rheault worked as an Adjunct Professor in the Agricultural Engineering Department teaching a variety agriculture mechanics courses.  

Prior to his recent appointment as Nevada’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Rheault has been employed with the Nevada Department of Education since 1986.  During his tenure with the Department of Education, he has served as the Agriculture Education Consultant and State Future Farm workers of American Advisor for five years, Assistant Director and Director of the Office of Occupational and Continuing Education for four years, and as Deputy Superintendent for Instructional, Research and Evaluative Services for the past nine years.   

Dr. Rheault also served for eight years as an Army Officer in Minnesota and Iowa National Guard Units from 1977 through 1985.  He has been married to his wife Denise for 27 years and has four daughters.
