Veronica “Ronnie” Wilson entered the gaming industry as an
accountant for the Thunderbird Hotel in Las Vegas, in 1973.
From 1978 to 1992 Veronica was with the Maxim Hotel & Casino.
During those fifteen years at the Maxim she went from a
supervisor in accounting to their Director of Internal Audit and
then finally Controller. In 1992, the JMJ Management Team was
developed and Veronica assumed the position of Chief Financial
Officer for the corporation. Soon following JMJ acquired the
lease on the Aladdin Hotel and Casino and operated the property
from June 1992 until December 1997. In 1993 Veronica went on to
serve as the CEO of the Aladdin until its closure in 1997.
Veronica continued to serve as JMJ’s President/CEO until she
made a colossal career change into the non-profit arena. In May
of 2000 Ms. Wilson was appointed to the Board of Directors of
Blind Center of Nevada and in September of 2000 she became the
President/Chief Executive Officer of the Center.
Veronica is a native of Las Vegas, has been happily married for
nearly 30 years and is a proud mother of Devon, her daughter who
attends UCLA in California. |
